En explorant la matière et ses dimensions graphiques, Clémentine Long crée des séries d’objets singuliers oscillant entre l’art et le design. Elle aime la façon dont les objets peuvent raconter des histoires et leurs différents degrés de lecture, à la fois plastique et fonctionnelle.
À travers sa pratique, elle cherche à interroger de nouveaux usages, en lien direct à la sensibilité et au geste. Après avoir étudié le design de produit à Amiens et Rennes, puis la céramique à Sèvres, elle crée ce studio en 2022 comme un espace dédié à l’expérimentation.
Avec la céramique comme principal médium, Clémentine puise dans un répertoire de formes rappelant un paysage urbain quotidien. La anse, la grille et le trou sont des éléments qu’elle interroge et dont elle s’empare pour en comprendre la typologie formelle. Les volumes qui en découlent sont construits graduellement en colombins, avec une technique d’assemblage instinctive. C’est ce geste graphique qui caractérise son intention, processus lent et précis où, du dessin à la matière, la ligne du colombin fait écho à celle du crayon.

In an exploration of materiality and its graphic dimensions, Clémentine Long creates a series of unique objects that waves between art and design. Her work is inspired by the way objects can tell stories and their different levels of interpretation, both visual and functional.
Through her practice, she seeks to explore new uses, directly linked to sensitivity and gesture. After studying product design and ceramics, she created this studio in 2022 as a space dedicated to experimentation.
With ceramics as her primary medium, Clémentine draws on a repertoire of shapes reminiscent of an everyday urban landscape. She explores elements such as the handle, the grid, and the hole and uses them to understand their formal typology. Resulting volumes are gradually constructed in coils, using an instinctive assembly technique. Her intention is characterized by this graphic gesture, a slow and precise process where from a drawing to an object, the line of the coil echoes that of the pencil.
